A House of Commons Briefing Paper on Sex and Relationships Education in schools dated February 2016 states:
“The Department recommends that all primary schools should have a sex and relationship education programme tailored to the age and the physical and emotional maturity of the children.
It should ensure that both boys and girls know about puberty and how a baby is born – as set out in Key Stages 1 and 2 of the National Science Curriculum. Section 3 gives further information on what should be taught at these stages and how this should be rooted in the PSHE framework.”
To support your current curriculum, Life Choice introduce NEW to primary schools The Development Set and the Torso.
The Development Set consists of 10 parts and shows the different stages of pregnancy and foetal development.
Your existing curriculum can be dramatically enhanced as students can support their learn by touching and feeling the different models which are made of durable plastic.
The Torso with removable baby shows the female pelvis during the 40th week of pregnancy, in the normal position of a child before birth.
Made of durable plastic, it demonstrates the female genital organs, human reproductive and urinary systems. A uterus with embryo in the 3rd month of pregnancy is mounted on the base for comparison.
This amazing model allows students to really understand the relationship between mother and baby.
The Development Set and the Torso can be purchased separately or together for a discounted price. Please contact us for a quote.
