You can also:

• Recharge up to five Babies at once through a single wall outlet with the new Charging Station.
• Plug in your Baby anytime to ensure adequate power and get up to five days operation from an overnight charge.
• Sometimes the Babies need longer than 6 hours. So when your Baby arrives, we recommend charging the Baby for at least 48 hours to get a good start, and again  after long periods of no use, school holidays etc.

Control Centre Software and Pod

Allows you to wirelessly program multiple Babies at once, with handy drop-down menus, monitor the progress of individual simulations, check the batter charge, status, automatically retrieve data, create detailed simulation reports, customise the simulation and more!  Includes a communication Pod and USB cable that connects to your computer, and communicates wirelessly when the Baby is within 50 feet. (RealCare Baby II plus models only)

What extras do you need?

Baby Slings

The students have to carry the Babies around safely and responsibly and baby carriers (slings) are a great way to do this. They leave hands free to carry school bags home and are easier to store away when not in use.  You may want to think about care seats too.

Nappies and bottles

Buy spare nappies and bottles – these go out with students and don’t always come back!

Student ID’s

Always keep a spare pair of student ID’s.

Breastfeeding device

The Starter Packs have both breastfeeding device and bottle, but the Add-on Babies only have a bottle. You may like to budget for a number of devices to ensure you offer both options to those students interested.

Baby Outfits

Designed to keep Baby clean and clean Babies are treated with more respect! Buying two outfits provides a change of clothes to add realism to your programme and you could also get the students to wash and iron spare outfits during their weekend Parenting Class!

Wristbands

Each student needs a new wristband and you may want to purchase extra wristbands (they come in packs of 100) to last throughout the year.

Flexible Service Agreement

Allows you to bank your budget for unexpected Baby repairs, and any surplus can be used to purchase accessories etc. Click the Maintenance and Service link on the left for more information.

The RealCare Baby II-plus is the latest virtual baby from Realityworks, Inc. of Wisconsin USA. RealCare Baby II and Baby II-plus are just as demanding as real babies, and when used within an appropriate framework, provide students with the most realistic parenting simulation available. Uniquely, they need feeding, burping, rocking, nappy changing and require their heads to be gently supported, and the carer has to determine the care needed.
The Baby also monitors the quality of care it receives, and reports on the number of times each type of care was provided. The Baby also records the number and times of failed requests for care, as well as frequency of wrong positioning, rough handling and shaken baby syndrome.

The Baby can be programmed in advance, and a single control unit (which comes with the Starter Pack) can be used to program many Babies in quick succession. Each Baby can be programmed to respond to one or two caregivers, and can be put in day care when the student cannot provide care.

The Student Care reporting software that can be purchased separately allows you to customize a Care Report that can be printed from your own computer, very quickly and easily.

The plus model includes a rechargeable battery pack and the ability to programme multiple Babies directly from your computer with the Control Centre Software, which can be purchased separately.
